There’s no doubt about it that the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House have been big issues, especially in the past few months as time for the fate of the bills draw near. There have been negative responses among corporations that make their living with the Internet. One particular response is cyber protests that some major websitesare progressing which include online petitions and self censoring, which people across the web are calling the SOPA Blackout. Although Facebook isn’t officially part of the protest, the community is alive with members protestingby blacking out their profile images. Companies involved in the SOPA Blackout include (but not limited to) Google, Wikipedia, and Mozilla.
