Lighthouses by Gibson are handmade solar powered lighthouses for your garden or landscaping. Custom designed and painted, these yard decorations are inspired by the well known lighthouses of the Outer Banks, NC.
This Garden Lighthouse Collection consists of the Cape Hatteras, Cape Lookout and Bodie Island Lights. Approximately four feet tall, they will enhance any landscape, such as yard, flower garden, lawn, deck, pool and makes a great landmark for visitors. They each come with a solar light which charges by day and gives off a soft glow at night, constructed of weather resistant materials such as treated wood for the base, aluminum for the trunk and weather resistant material for the decks. With proper care they will last for many years.

About Us & Our Landscape Lighthouses
My name is Paul, and I’m the artist behind Lighthouses by Gibson. Art and woodworking has always been a passion of mine. From an early age, I enjoyed doing pastel and oil paintings. Eventually, I got into woodworking and started my own business building country furniture. This evolved into making display items for artwork.
When I retired in 1999, I sold my woodworking business and spent the next six months remodeling our house. For about a week after finishing that project, I decided I needed something to occupy my time. I remembered that my twin sister had received a garden lighthouse as a gift from her daughter; so I said, “hey, I can build these things”. Since I have a 2,000 square foot shop and all the woodworking tools needed, I decided to give the garden lighthouses a try.
It wasn’t to be that easy. It took four to six months of research and development (and a lot of trial and error) to come up with a respectable looking lighthouse. To my surprise, these lighthouses sold very well. They range in size from three feet to six feet tall, and I have marketed them from my hometown of Statesville, NC to Myrtle Beach, SC with good success; and I am now trying the internet in order to reach more people.
